I’ve always been more of a quiet observer, more comfortable noticing than being noticed.
I pay attention to the small things-the way the light moves through a room, what can be made with something already on hand, the movement of a tree swaying in the breeze, the feeling of a layered, personalized home, and the ordinary moments in life that somehow stay with us.
Over the years, I’ve realized how much those small things matter to me. I want to notice more, appreciate more, create more, spend more time outside, and make room for the things that bring beauty and meaning to an ordinary day.
That’s really where A Life Lifted came from.
I think of this blog as a living journal, which means I’m not entirely sure where it will lead, and I think I like it that way. You’ll probably find a mix of creative projects, things I’m doing around our home, nature, family stories, what I’m learning, and whatever else catches my attention.
I’ve always loved making something out of what I already have, finding another use for something that’s been forgotten, and letting a project become something different than I originally planned. Often, the things I end up loving most are the ones I didn’t quite see coming.
My faith is also a very important part of my life; it shapes how I see things and guides me throughout each day, even though it isn’t something I always talk about openly. For me, slowing down, paying attention, creating, and spending time in nature are all connected to that in some way.
Mostly, I hope this little blog encourages you to slow down now and then, notice what’s already around you, and make a little more room for whatever lifts your own life.
